[Bug 1379546] Re: Activities using wrong display resolution

Did this issue occur in a previous version of Ubuntu, or is this a new
issue?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.17 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Title:
  Activities using wrong display resolution

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I set resolution in displays to 1360x768
Select Activities and it uses resolution 1920x1020 which is so small it's hard to read.
Some windows are using 1360x768 which is what I want
Some windows revert to max resolution which is barely readable.

ubuntu utopic unity has no such problem. Set resolution to 1360x768
  and it stays that way.

Example this launchpad bug screen is way too small, switch to terminal
  and it's fine.
