Bug description:
  seems some patches from 3.18 kernel are needed in order to support AMD
  Carrizo chips:
  http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTgwODM

  we need to investigate and identify those patches, and backport as
  needed for the Trusty kernel(3.13)
