[Bug 1322644] Re: [Dell XPS 13 (L321X)] External monitor does not wake up after sleep

@Aldo

3.13.0-12.32 seems to work for me. So what you can do:

* download 4 packages in a new directory: (if you have a 64 bits system)
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/3.13.0-12.32/+build/5624936/+files/linux-headers-3.13.0-12-generic_3.13.0-12.32_amd64.deb
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/3.13.0-12.32/+build/5624936/+files/linux-image-3.13.0-12-generic_3.13.0-12.32_amd64.deb
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/3.13.0-12.32/+build/5624936/+files/linux-image-extra-3.13.0-12-generic_3.13.0-12.32_amd64.deb
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/3.13.0-12.32/+build/5624939/+files/linux-headers-3.13.0-12_3.13.0-12.32_all.deb
* install all: cd to this directory and type
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
* then restart and at boot, make sure you select the 3.13.0-12 kernel (not the default one)

Title:
[Dell XPS 13 (L321X)] External monitor does not wake up after sleep

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
The problem started after I upgraded from kubuntu 13.10 to 14.04.
the monitor is connected to my laptop via a VGA mini display port.
At boot, it works correctly, but if the screen goes blank after some inactivity, then it stays black forever.

WORKAROUND: If I unplug the VGA adapter, and plug it back, it works
  again.
