Well i have the same problem with the tg3 driver @ Broadcom 5719 NIC and HP ProLiant DL385 G8 server. Under Ubuntu 14.04, kernel 3.13.x. I get the transmit timed out, resetting and the long table with hex codes in DMESG.
But it worked well with 3.8 kernels on Ubuntu 12.x
I'm going to try changing the clock source (TSC selected by the kernel). I'll try forcing PIT or HPET.
