Title:
Weird HW exceptions after upgrading to 14.10
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
After upgrading to Ubuntu 14.10 I can see these worrying lines,
printed in red, from my `dmesg` output:
[ 3.192349] ata14.00: exception Emask 0x1 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 <-- printed in red
[ 3.192395] ata14.00: irq_stat 0x40000001 <-- printed in red

res 00/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/00 Emask 0x3 (HSM violation) <-- printed in red

[ 3.520696] ata14.00: configured for UDMA/66
[ 3.520821] ata14: EH complete
Any ideas where the exception and HSM violation is coming from?
The next section with a similar issue is:
[ 14.172661] ata8.00: exception Emask 0x1 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x0 <-- printed in red
[ 14.172712] ata8.00: irq_stat 0x40000001 <-- printed in red

[ 14.172879] ata8.00: status: { DRDY ERR }
[ 14.172922] ata8.00: error: { ABRT }
Been searching everywhere for solutions but found no working one. Any
clues? Any answers very welcome.
Thanks!!
