regarding this being fixed with an update. For future reference you can

Bug description:
wifi with broadcom 4309 (14e4:4324):
wifi does not work with b43-fwcutter, version 1:019-1. But works after replacing b43-fwcutter, version 1:019-1 by version 1:018-2.
This is for lubuntu-14.10.
