[Bug 1392067] Re: Laptop wakes up while lid remains closed – seemingly not in response to any input
Niels Ganser, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers an update to your BIOS is available (2.29). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.
Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.
Once the BIOS is updated, then please mark this report Status Confirmed.
Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Laptop wakes up while lid remains closed – seemingly not in response
to any input
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
While suspend and resume works fine in principle, my Acer Aspire V5
(573G-54218G1Taii) will occasionally wake up even while its lid
remains closed. There are no ethernet cable or external input devices
connected and this happens even if the laptop is completely
unattended; i.e. this does not seem to happen in response to any
"stimuli".
I so far did not manage to figure any pattern in when it wakes up, but
it seems to happen every day (with the laptop having been closed 6–20
hours before).
