Title:
T42 Hardy Wireless, Sound & slow boot patch

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I had an early problem of Hardy Alpha 6 hanging on boot.
The problem still remain in Ubuntu 8.04.1.
I had a problem with Hardy Beta very slow boot and then no wireless or
sound even though it recognized both during install.

Somewhere in the bug reports (can't remember which one) I ran across the
  following work-around.

  Open the /lib/modules/2.6.24xxx/modules.alias
comment out the first two occurences of AES that link to padlock and
  geode hardware.

I did this, saved, exited & rebooted. My wireless and sound were
recognized & worked fine and the boot process was about 70- 85 seconds.

I don't understand why they were linked to padlock. All worked fine
  under Gutsy 7.10.
