Re: [Bug 805484] Re: BIOS system Boot fail after normal shutdown v11.04
Chris
My system is different now. I ditched Windows 7 and have a single boot
system. I am also using Ubuntu v14.04 and will soon go to v11.10. If I
recall the bug stopped with 11.10.

Title:
BIOS system Boot fail after normal shutdown v11.04
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I just installed v11.04 on a dual WinXP boot with the grub boot
loader. The issue occurs when I start up my system after a normal shut
down. First, I fire up Ubuntu and all seems fine. I use the icon in
the upper right corner next to the user name to shut down. It seems
to shut down fine. I re-start the system at a latter time and my BIOS
gives me an error message the a had a 'system BOOT fail or POST
interrupted'. I then follow the instructions to either hit F1 or Del
(go to BIOS setup). Either way works and the grub boot loader loads
and works fine. The system did not do it in WinXP or old version
10.10. Just started.
