Title:
  HVR-950Q Display Glitches

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I have a USB TV Tuner - Hauppage HVR-950Q with USB ID 2040:7217

It has an odd display glitch which is hard to describe. I can post
screen-grabs but its intermittant, yet constant. What I mean is that
it occurs every couple of seconds, but not every frame. It's less
noticeable with tvtime, but is noticeable in all video applications
trying to display from this tuner. I have tried different USB ports
and changing kernels and changing other USB devices. I can make the
problem go away by transcoding a video with Handbrake - this eats up a
lot of CPU time and this seems to resolve the problem (race
  condition?)

This is VERY annoying. My poor laptop is being thrashed by having to
transcode a video everytime I want to watch TV. If anyone can help,
  it would be greatly appreciated.
