[Bug 1398035] Re: grub suddenly unable to get keystrokes from wireless keyboard and mouse
Gordon Fitch, could you please boot into the live environment via http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and execute the following via a terminal:
apport-collect 1398035
Given this happened after upgrading 12.04.1 to 12.04.5 (which only
changes kernel and xorg bits, no userspace changes) the root cause would
appear not to be a grub2 but kernel space.
** Package changed: grub2 (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu)
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided => Low
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Incomplete

Title:
grub suddenly unable to get keystrokes from wireless keyboard and
mouse
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Problem appeared after automatic update of version 12.04, (12.04.5)
and also after trying to update to 14.04. Keyboard, mouse work OK
with previous versions and LiveCD of 12.04.1. In 12.04, loader
presented menu from which selection could not be made with either
mouse or keyboard and did not time out. In 14.04, could not select
from menu but menu timed out.
Substituting old-style keyboard and USB mouse caused problem to
disappear (thus far). Boot is normal, computer is now running
normally.
Ubuntu versions: see above.
Wireless keyboard is Logitech Y-RAK73. No legible information on
mouse or receiver.
Attempted to use Apport, but it crashed.
