Message #93755
[Bug 938954] [NEW] Ubuntu Precise fails to poweroff on suspend/hibernate
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I have a ASUS K53E laptop. When either suspending or hibernating the
laptop fails to poweroff. The actual suspending/hibernating appears to
work though.
If I hibernate(by running pm-hibernate from a terminal) no error
messages appear on screen and after about ten seconds the screen goes
blank but stays on. If I hold down the power button and turn off the
laptop and then start it again it resumes from hibernation quite
happily.
Suspending is similar with the exception that if I hold down the power
button to turn it off and then turn it back on it doesn't appear to
resume.
I've only recently got this laptop and have only ever run Precise on it
so I do not know if suspending has worked in earlier versions of Ubuntu.
Attached is the pm-suspend.log
