[Bug 1050460] Re: Pm-Suspend wakes up with fan at accelerated speed
Pierre, as per http://www.emachines.com/ec/en/US/content/drivers an update to your BIOS is available (4GC3109E). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.
Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.
Once the BIOS is updated, then please mark this report Status Confirmed.
Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Pm-Suspend wakes up with fan at accelerated speed
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
On an E-Machine desktop W5233 using Lubuntu 12.04
After waking up from Suspend, the fan speed is higher than normal
(loud and annoying) and stays higher instead going down as it should.
It does not do this with Hibernate. If I re-suspend immediately and
wake up again, it corrects the problem. I.e. I have to suspend twice
each time. It has done that consistently for the past 5 years.
Can this be corrected?
Thanks.
