[Bug 1181237] Re: Kubuntu 14.04: System Frozen when Resuming from Suspend

Antonio Sánchez, as per http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61M_LE/HelpDesk_Download/ an update to your BIOS is available (4601). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, then please mark this report Status Confirmed.

Thank you for your understanding.

** Description changed:

- Kubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) just installed
- -- UPDATE 12-6-2014 : Also after upgrading to 14.14
+ After installing Kubuntu 13.04 or 14.04, after resuming from suspend
+ clicking buttons on the keyboard have no effect, as well as while I can
+ move the mouse cursor icon around, clicking on a field does nothing.
+ This is resolved by restarting. This happens using nouveau or NVIDIA
+ drivers.

-
- System resumes or locks screen correctly. It also correctly displays
- resume screen.
-
- But then keyboard seems to be locked, I can't move to buttons or
- password field, not even using the mouse. The mouse pointer moves
- normally but clicking on fields do nothing, it seems the controls are
- disabled although display as enabled.
-
- Once I was able to display the mnemonics of buttons pressing 'Alt', but
- either way they didn't respond to the action.
-
- I just only able to power off the computer and restart.
-
- ---
-
- UPDATE 12-6-2014 : Now using 14.04. Just in case it helps: Resume works
- perfectly using kubuntu-desktop in standard Ubuntu. Just in case it
- helps: NVIDIA driver works perfectly using kubuntu-desktop, but using
- Kubuntu I must select Xorg driver, because choosing Nvidia one there is
- a risk to lose the system (wrong display).
+ This does not happen when installing the kubuntu-desktop package after
+ installing from the standard Ubuntu ISO.
