Title:
Problems with "hibernate"
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
OS: Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64, Hardware: Lenovo T410s (using Intel
graphics), i5-540 M.
When running pm-hibernate, and when according to "free" the RAM
occupation is below the swap size, hibernation does not take place.
When running subsequently "cpufreq-info", only one thread shows up
(there should be 4). To put the CPU into its "normal" state requires a
reboot.
A partial fix: executing (as root):
sync; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
sync; echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
cat /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
frees memory. A subsequent hibernation (with "pm-hibernate") then works.
Thank you,
François P. Rotzinger
