Title:
Rockchip USB MP3 player disconnects immediately
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
When a Rockchip USB MP3 player is connected it is mounted and appears
as a disk. Almost immediately, it then disconnects. Apparently it can
only handle 128 sectors being accessed in one chunk, and the default
limit is higher than that, so the player disconnects.
Ubuntu Forum post describing the problem, along with link to a fix from linux kernel list:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=602423
Fedora Forum post with a different solution:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=155595
In order to have a chance at solving https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1
we can't require users to have to do these kinds of complicated
maneouvers just to use an mp3 player. It has to be automatic.
