[Bug 1401226] Re: 1002:9830 [Lenovo IdeaPad S415 Touch] Hard locks watching pepper flash content via chromium
While the frequency of this problem seems lowered after the BIOS update,
and updating the Ubuntu repository kernel, it happened again today as
per the attached screenshot of my laptop screen after it happened.
Nothing of significance was captured in the logs.
However, I don't recall even having chrome open. However, I did have a
virtualbox VM running, among other things, and this issue is correlated
to heavy usage.
Would it be possible to have an extras package be built for the next
mainline kernel release in http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D so I may continue testing the mainline kernel with
virtualbox? Or, could instructions on developing an extras package be
provided at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection so I could at
least attempt myself?
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
Status: Invalid => Confirmed

I just updated the BIOS. If it continues, I'll do a mainline test next:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
