[Bug 1405278] Re: Suspend problem when running LiveUSB from USB 3.0 port (but not 2.0 port)

Thanks for the head-up.

Tested 2015-01-06 daily build on one of the previously problem-some
machines: ASUS X202E.

USB 2.0 (stick) on USB 3.0 (port): Now wakes up normally!

USB 3.0 (stick) on USB 3.0 (port): still couldn't wake up normally.
Because the system crashed after wake-up, I was unable to get a log.

Title:
Suspend problem when running LiveUSB from USB 3.0 port (but not 2.0
  port)

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
When running Ubuntu 14.04/14.10 from LiveUSB, the system would crash
after suspend (either by closing the lid or forcing the system to
suspend), when the USB stick was inserted into USB 3.0 port.

This problem was experienced with both USB 2.0 and 3.0 stick.

No problem was observed when the Ubuntu LiveUSB stick (either USB 2.0
or 3.0) was inserted into a USB 2.0 port. (I.e., the Ubuntu system
would wake up normally after suspend when USB 2.0 port was used).

When I installed 14.04/14.10 into a USB stick (3.0), Ubuntu would wake
up normally from suspend (i.e. no problem with the USB 3.0 port with
  an installed USB stick).

It thus appears that this is not a BIOS problem. The suspend (or more
specifically, wake-up) problem only occurred when booting from a
LiveUSB stick (USB 2.0/3.0) in a USB 3.0 slot.

Update: With Ubuntu 15.04, I was able to wake up the LiveUSB when it
was on USB 2.0 stick in a USB 3.0 port, but not on USB 3.0 stick.
