Title:
Atheros missing from Hardware Drivers after latest Intrepid Proposed

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
After Intrepid-proposed updates today which were prompted by update
manager (linux 2.6.27.11) Atheros driver is missing from Hardware
Drivers and wireless doesn't work. I have a DLink DWL-G650. This is
my first bug report, please advise if/how I can submit further
information. I've submitted this by stepping back a version via GRUB.

  1) Ubuntu 8.10 (proposed)
  2) not sure, I think it has something to do with upgrading to 2.6.27.11
  3) Connect to wireless network
  4) Drivers appear to be missing

Adding the relevant synaptics history below:

Several discussions/tutorials exist for problems with ubuntu and atheros wireless.
Can we find an easier solution that can work with new releases?
