The 2.6 wxWidgets API is documented here:

Notice that SetToolNormalBitmap() is not in there. It was added
sometime after 2.8.1. Even recent Linux distros are lucky to be at
2.8.1 of wxWidgets.

It would be helpful to create a browser bookmark to the above URL and
consult it when in doubt.
