Re: Re: KiCad tree change proposition

Hi Igor,

Hello Dick!

Each of Igor's original proposed changes can be debated on their own
separately.

Sorry, can you, please explain in another words, what do you mean?
English is not my native language :-(

Your A, C, and D items are not related to the B. items. (C is somewhat related, depending what a "package" is.) Where file are in the repository has little to do with where things are in a user installation. (Example: we have header files *.h, and *.pjd files, and they never get to the user's installation tree. Therefore your statement below seems not to apply:

I will do this, but I need time to change source code for "help" relocation.

We want to re-arrange the svn repository, period. This is the only subject I care about in your original posting. The arrangement of the installation tree can be a topic for another day.

A user installation is not the repository. The repository is for managing changes. It does not have to be related so closely to the architecture of the user installation tree. There can be a separate make file or other installation mechanism for the help files, but again, that is a subject for another day.

Does this make it clear? Do you now agree?

Dick
