do we want somehow group files by parent program or not
No, as that would be another thing to maintain.
Martin,Fortunately all the variables which constitute bitmaps seem to have the _xpm text at the end of their names, so that can be grep-ed for to find out points of usage within the *.cpp sources.

OK, one bitmap library for all. Let me start on this and give me couple of weeks to complete due to free time limitations. He who wants to use a bitmap, simply "uses it" and links to the "bitmaps" library. There is no impediment to using any bitmap as they are all in bitmaps.h as externs.- do we want somehow group files by parent program or notThe actual implementation is obvious.
