There is also the opportunity to contribute in the area of bug fixing 
and tracker database maintenance:

Some of these are still real, some may have been fixed, it would be nice 
to have those that are still real fixed, and those that are already 
fixed marked as closed in the tracker database.


Some of the best linux kernel developers got started simply by fixing bugs.


It is easier to offer a bug fix than an enhancement, in a political 
sense also.
