I uploaded on my site the kicad-2008-08-25b that solves this problem.
Note:
due to a compiling problem, also the kicad-2008-08-25a.tgz contained 
the previous (2008-08-25) version of pcbnew.

So Update your kicad install to the kicad-2008-08-25b version.
