I've had a bit of time to digest it myself, and I think I have a
reasonable understanding. I've began work on a libiges, which should
just give data structures containing the stuff for each entry (including
parameters). It's in C (C++ would have been overkill), but I doubt
there's no easy way to interface it with Perl.

It's going a bit slow, as I'm using cmake for the first time and don't
have enough aspirin to figure out how to pass compiler flags. :p
