That was a very good read, thanks. I used to say that I wouldn't pay for
software. Then I realized that I cannot simply take something for free
and give nothing back, so I started to get involved in making the
software, and finally ended up squeezing my brains out with kicad. :P

I like the idea. I realized that, If I really wanted a feature in a
program, and it would cost a meaningless amount (compared to proprietary
software), I wouldn't mind paying for it.

The idea is applicable in kicad, but we lack the infrastructure at the
moment. My only fear is that, if M$ goes this route, Linux will finally
have some real competition.
