Re: Who owns the Kicad logo?

Hello Adam,
not sure what you mean by the logo if KiCad but I guess you mean the
one in attachment. This artwork (as all other kicad icons in the kicad
development repository) was made by polling together lots of other
artworks especially from LibreOffice and even Geda stuff. Lots of
inspiration comes from Tango icon sets and the web in general.

All kicad artwork is more or less here:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~kicad-testing-committers/kicad/testing/files/head:/bitmaps_png/sources/

and as you can see in the CREDITS doc here:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~kicad-testing-committers/kicad/testing/view/head:/bitmaps_png/sources/CREDITS

it is lots of icons so I tried to make the best use of what is already
out there.

In my opinion, you are free to come up with any logo or artwork that
you want and ask this mailing list if people like it. If they do, I am
sure Jean-Pierre or others will accept it. There are few guys here who
can give you lots of arty feedback (if you need it).

As far as I am concern you can improve/replace any KiCad artwork you
like and if you need any help I am here. Also, if you are very much
into icon design and software usability, many icons would need some
polishing.

cheers
Fabrizio
