Hi Nick,

You need to have a few different track widths defined in menu Design 
Rules->Design Rules, tab Global Design Rules. Then [ & ] switch between 
those widths, but it currently does affect selected track (although it 
could be a good idea). To change a track width you need to choose a 
width and then double click a track (like by default in KiCad).
