Re: can't find kicad.pro

I'm pretty sure versions newer than 2014-05-31 would tell you where it was looking for the
template file, with a popup window.

I've worked the last two days on project related improvements and should have those
committed within a couple of days. I suggest upgrading in about a week.

Until then you might be able to use the programs individually, outside the kicad(exe), by
running pcbnew and eeschema directly.

The Kiway architectural changes were most dramatic WRT to project management.
Architectural changes are more dramatic than individual enhancements.

I've found it difficult to spend time on KiCad recently, but did so the last two days.

In general if you are going to navigate a storm, you want to be in a fast car. That
means, that unless you can build your own binaries, you will not be master of your own
destiny. And of the three platforms, windows, linux and mac, you are using the one with
the most grief WRT KiCad support.
