I just confirmed that this bug:

is indeed valid.  It seems that the default grid setting in the
"Schematic Editor Options" dialog is ignored and the grid setting when
Eeschema was last closed is used on restart.  This is IMO the desired
behavior rather then starting with the default setting.  This makes the
default grid size configuration option confusing and useless.  If no one
objects, I will remove the default grid setting from the dialog and
stick with the current behavior.
