Mario,

I suggest you use wxWidgets 3.0.1 at a minimum.  It is the latest
release and resolves most (but not all of the issues) in 3.0.0.  I've
been using latest trunk from SourceForge on my Windows builds with good
results but that may or may not work as well as on other platforms.
