The re-designed layout us much more appealing. It looks much better than
the previous layout.

This type of behaviour would get my vote, although I also think it's
perhaps better to swap to a netlist button that is a fixed filename and
netlist type (pcbnew) and have this dialog under the heading "export
enlist".

That's because there are other areas like this that need cleaning up in the
same way, e.g eeschema options dialog which asks you for the project file
to save the project specific setting to, whilst at the same time updating
the eeschema (non-project specific) options too! It's really quite awkward
to be asked for these standard named files in a normal workflow.

This also sounds good. Optimising the "normal" workflow can be a great
bonus, but it may take a hit of hammering out as to the actual workflow and
operation of these options.
