Are build warnings and notes normal?

When I build kicad, I get a lot of warnings and 'notes' in the output

( output from:
  cd kicad.bzr
  make 2>&1 | tee kicad_make.out
)

At last count there are around 7654 warnings (adding up the 'nnnwarnings generated' lines).


Is this normal? Is everyone seeing these messages?
