Looks pretty good. Your dnf commands are pretty straightforward. I was
able to see a brand new KiCad home page in just a few minutes. The
Config info is below. From the install, it was rev-4744

Application: Eeschema
Version: (2014-jan-25)-product Release build
wxWidgets: Version 2.8.12 (release,Unicode,compiler with C++ ABI
1002,GCC 4.9.2,wx containers,compatible with 2.4,compatible with 2.6)
Platform: Linux 3.18.7-200.fc21.x86_64 x86_64, 64 bit, Little endian, wxGTK
Boost version: 1.55.0
         USE_WX_GRAPHICS_CONTEXT=OFF
         USE_WX_OVERLAY=OFF
         KICAD_SCRIPTING=OFF
         KICAD_SCRIPTING_MODULES=OFF
         KICAD_SCRIPTING_WXPYTHON=OFF
         USE_FP_LIB_TABLE=HARD_CODED_ON
         BUILD_GITHUB_PLUGIN=OFF

I haven't spent more than 15 minutes testing, so I haven't seen
everything - (no libraries installed..)

The doc and help are properly found and look good.

Setting the page parameters (A4 to US Letter) in the home page does not
seem to carry over to the schematic page parameters, but perhaps that is
by design.

Still testing (after I find the footprints..)
