Re: official web page

Hi Marcos and all,

it took me a bit but here is the hackrf-one generated with STEP models by kicad stepup script and the hackrf-one in kicad 3d-viewer with all the 3d-models generated from the conversion of the STEP models. I also checked the geometries of the generated board with models and there are no problems ...

The rendering result shows that the two scenarios are exactly the same, and I didn't get any problem in rendering all the vrml models in kicad.

generating the 3D modes in FreeCAD will produce a vrml 3D models with no shading issues and with mechanical respect of all the dimensions

It would be nice if some of these screenshots could be in the official web page...

please let me know what you think

(ps second try in sending the screenshots)

Hi Maurice,

here is the HackRF board with 3D models

Most of the footprits are from Walter (smisioto), and located
in /usr/share/kicad/modules/packages3d/walter/

Ping me if there is something missing, I didn't try to open the project in
a different PC.

Have fun, I'm keen to see the result

Oh, I understand.

My modified copy of HackRF has more 3D models specified, I'll upload the
project somewhere when I get home

I would like to test kicad stepup script for the hackrf board, so I just
would need the modified file... no 3d models

Hi Marcos,

I use to get the Walter's models too

the .brd file that I can download from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/hackrf/files/?source=navbar

has only some sot23.wrl file associated to pcb footprints...
so what I'm asking you is, if possible, to receive the hackrf-one.brd or
hackrf-one.kicad_pcb file with the 3d models associated to footprints...

thank you
Maurice

Hi Maurice,
What do you mean by 3d models name?

I use Walter's models from smisioto.org

  Hi Marco,

it would be possible to get the HackRF kicad pcb file updated with
the 3d
models names?

Thank you

  Hi,
see attached some screenshots of 3D Viewer showing the HackRF board,
it
could replace this one in kicad-pcb.org

Who should I ask to upload it?

The other screenshots could be updated too, they look ancient.

I would also be nice if we had an announcement about the new stable

P&S routing, etc.

Yes, it would be nice to have the website updated.
Kicad could have a lot of media coverage given the vast
improvements
over the last release and we will need (besides bugfixing) some
appealing screenshots and videos.

If I can I'll prepare screenshots from hackrf, ubertooth, etc for
you
guys to review.

Best regards
