I just forgot to say that typically for connector, push-buttons and 
similar components it is possible to get the STEP model directly from 
the manufacturer, without any limit in share the model.

Only small components (e.g. chips and passive) do not have an easy 
repository for STEP model.

Having a repo for FreeCAD models would fill the gap :)
