Hello.
Currently KiCad can use footprints directly from github or local copy, also we
have footprints library wizard. But we don't have any easy to use wizards for
schematic and 3d libraries except "library-repos-install.sh" script (I use
modificated version).
In this situation linux distributives are forced to create kicad-library
packages (I'm talking as openSUSE maintainer). But it is not possible to
update such packages regularly in all cases. So I guess it is necessary to
upgrade library wizard.
