Message #19937
Usability issue in GAL mode on Windows.
Hi, Orson.
I have a usability issue in GAL mode (Windows specific, at least W7 32
bits) when a Pcbnew canvas uses the GAL mode.
When mouse cursor enters the canvas area, the frame immediately has the
focus and is brought to the to top level, even it is not the current top
level frame.
This creates usability issues when more than one Kicad frame is opened.
If, for instance, the board editor is currently open, and if the
footprint editor (or the 3d viewer, or any other Kicad frame) is open
and partially overlaps the board editor canvas (usual case when you have
only one monitor) and is the top level frame, as soon as the mouse
enters the board editor canvas area, the current top level frame is
lowered, and the board editor becomes the top level frame.
The more annoying consequence:
if (for instance) the 3D viewer (or the footprint viewer) viewer has a
small size and is entirely contained in the canvas area, it becomes not
visible, sometimes unreachable because each time the mouse cursor enters
an exposed area of the board editor GAL canvas, the board editor becomes
the top level frame, and the other frame is lowered behind the board
editor frame) .
This issues, obviously, does not happen on Linux.
