Since upgrading to the latest LTS is suggested for desktop professional
users (Workstations) it is sufficient (IMHO) to support the LATEST LTS
(now 14.04 at April 16.04) and forget the older 12.04 and in a few months
14.04.

PS: for wxpython on 14.04 there is this simple workaround...

but it is already included in the kicad ppa ...
