It seems plausible that if the language wasn't configured this could
happen.  This must be something internal to wxWidgets.  Would someone
who uses a language that has accents by default test this for me by
duplicating the user's test scenario to verify the patch fixes the bug?
 I can do it my self but if I don't have to change my default system
language I would rather not.
