Re: Some new sweet features on the new 3D-Viewer

 

The short answer, lack of qualified and vetted manpower.  The real
answer is a bit more complicated than that.  There are not enough
developers that have been with the project long enough for me to have
full confidence in their software design capabilities that are willing
to work within the framework of the project.  This is a slow and arduous
task (somewhat like what it takes to become a Debian developer).
Developers either have to prove to me that they have the skill set and
the willingness to work with the KiCad dev team before I am willing to
give them that kind of responsibility.  This process takes time.  I will
not compromise the integrity of the project just to get changes
committed faster.  Early on in the project it was like the wild west
with devs committing anything they wanted and it was a disaster.  I'm
not willing to go through that again.
