1. probably such an option should be buried into the new option dialog
and not so visible as a second class menu entry as it is now;
2. some dialog buttons insist on following the LANGUAGE environment var
content regardless of the language option setting. As I said earlier
changing the language shold set the LANGUAGE env var and that var
should be available in the environmente before starting KiCad to make
its dialog language consistent.
