I don't remember if I made it official or not but I remember discussing
this in the past.  As of today, I will no longer accept patches for new
features in the legacy canvas only.  All new features in Pcbnew must be
implemented in the GAL canvas at a minimum.  I will leave it up to the
developer to decide whether or not to provide support for the legacy
canvas.  The goal is remove the legacy canvas a some point.  I
appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
