I don't have a strong opinion one way or another but you should never
underestimate the power of branding. You can take the same car and
change the manufacturer and model names and the same person who liked
the car under one brand name will hate it under another brand name. I
never understood this myself but I'm not a marketing guru. User are
familiar with the application names and given that the applications can
still be run in stand alone mode, it may make sense to keep them.

Rename or not, this change makes sense to me. Being able to directly
import an image as a symbol or footprint would be an improvement over
the way it's currently done. Although it would probably be useful for
library developers to be able to run it as a stand alone app as well.
