This is also what osx recommends as well.  This means we would have to
provide an image library (or libraries) with the appropriately sized
images.  This is not a trivial amount of work.  I'm guessing if we are
clever enough we could have cmake generate the image library and update
it any time the vector image is changed rather than the manual operation
we currently perform to update images.  It may be that wxWidgets works
this way as well.  I know that wxWidgets supports the concept of image
bundles so there may be some way to tell wxWidgets to map the correct
image size based on the display resolution without having to write the
code to do it ourselves.
