Re: [RFC] Logo Consolidation

 

Honestly, I need to reply again here - the more I look at this, the less
I like it. I really don't want to be too negative about this, but there
is a lot about this logo that just doesn't work.

- Really bad typography makes it slow to read:
  - Inconsistent tracking -   K  i    C A D
  - Inconsistent letter baseline

- The K looks crooked - upper diagonal arm shorter than lower, and the
  lower one dips under the baseline

- Capitalization is wrong, "CAD" might be the correct acronym but we've
  pretty consistently spelled our name "KiCad" for a long time

- An anonymous IRCer points out that the lower diagonal arm on the K
  looks a bit...rude. He's not the only one who sees this.


I quite like the original logo, to be entirely honest. Maybe it could be
improved slightly by changing to a fully sans serif font, but I really
don't think anything else on it needs to be changed.
