I throw my in my 2 cents on this issue. I really like our current logo.
I've seen it on patches and shirts so far and it translates very well
into those formats. It's clean, simple and classy. Adding the
schematic and board elements to the letters in the logo look too busy
and I'm not sure they really convey anything to the user that they don't
already know. My guess is that on something like a shirt they would be
indistinguishable due to the size. Logos are not just used for program,
documentation, and website graphics, they are also used in merchandise
so any logo changes would have to look decent on those mediums as well.

If we want to name it "Cad", we might need to explain why we don't follow common sense? I am wondering what this is supposed to tell? Cad.. Cadillac Cadaver? Hmm...

The official project name is KiCad, not KiCAD. This has been the
official name since before I joined the project and is not open for
discussion so please do not waste any time discussing it.
