I apologize for not replying sooner but I've been really swamped at work
and summer isn't the best time of the year for me to get work done. I'm
still hoping to get version 5 out before the end of the summer although
at this point it's looking unlikely. I'm getting close to finishing the
symbol library table configuration wizard. Once that's done, I'll use
the symbol library table ID to access symbols. Once this code is
stable, I will announce a last call before we branch version 5 to start
preparing for the release.

The macos and windows nightlies have been down for a few weeks, but
are now sort of running again.
I have not had much time to watch the bug tracker too much recently,

needs to be evaluated for an upcomming release.
I have less track of what features are supposed to og into v5.0. To me
this is still unclear, but I guess the biggest blocker is the stuff
that Wayne is working on. But I lost track of whether or not he needs
some feedback on something or not.
