Thakn you for your work. I finally got time to just play around a bit more
in gerbview with GAL :)

I just tested a random gerber file I got from somewhere unknown, but it
seems there is a slight quick when switching back to GAL from legacy. The
test file is attached along with some screenshots image.

At some zoom levels some pads dissapear. With this particular file it seems
to be the thermal pads of the SOIC8 packages. In one instance I also saw
they turn blue like the layer color for graphic layer 2 presumably. Also
the pads can't really be selected properly. It seems like gerbview thinks
those pads are the same... See the clarification menu.
