Thank you everyone for the feedback. It was very helpful. I decided to
go with the System 76 laptop primarily because I could get a
configuration with the options I wanted at a slightly lower cost and
Dell would not guarantee that any version of Ubuntu greater than 14.04
would work with Intel ME disabled in firmware. I'm guessing that the
Dell probably would work with Ubuntu 17.10 but I would rather not have
to wrestle with it if it doesn't.
